In early January of 2006 a young reporter came to visit. She was doing a story about our Habitat cookbook. Smart, yes she was. Pretty, you had better believe it. Gutsy.......absolutely. She came for one story and almost two years later we are still working side by side weekly.
Next week my side will be sad. A part of me is going on a grand and glorious adventure. The smart side of me will be taking a well deserved position with NBC KTUU in Anchorage Alaska. Cried, yes we have cried. We have laughed we have hooped and hollered and we have been so proud of the work this young reporter has given our community for almost 2 years. What an idiot I must be. I told her how beautiful Alaska is and then like a dummy I had to SHOW her. Stupid.

Not really. If I had any part of making her dreams come true then I am smarter than I thought and someday when this young woman becomes the next Barbara Walters or Oprah Winfrey I will be smiling so big.
Heart of the Home will continue to be produced for our 30 minute segments and if I hadn't shared my heart with you.......you might not miss her. But we will miss her.
Our director will remain the same and I will continue producing the programs you see now from Greenville SC to Newnan Georgia.

Lori had a great idea and I had a great time. Together we have laughed, we have cried and we have worked many hours. Alaska has held a part of my heart for many years and now it has claimed another part of my heart. Anchorage......after all its only an airplane ride away.
We'll visit and we'll laugh again but right now....we'll just say see you later, baby girl.
