Every Thanksgiving my sister-in-law and I would BUY beautiful cakes and put them on cake plates. My mother-in-law is hard of hearing, she would walk in the door and say, "I see ya’ll have been cooking all day". We would always answer, "no Ma, we went to the bakery". She never heard that and would tell everyone about the beautiful cakes Debbie and I made. Sometimes it's best to just be quiet or appear to just be quiet. We have to give Marietta Diner credit for all our beautiful cakes.
Oh, yes… when you pull out of the diner… be sure and look across the street… if the HOT sign is on you need to stop and get a few dozen. I grew up 2 blocks from the original Krispy Kreme on Ponce de Leon.
